1. Wear your pink hijab or a pink ribbon on October 28th. Dedicate your facebook status or picture to Pink Hijab Day ( www.pinkhijabday.net )

2. Donate to the Susan G. Komen foundation's Pink Hijab Day team  http://tiny.cc/2o9gW . The organizers ask that all participants in Pink Hijab Day donate at least $5.

3. Join the American Cancer Society's walk against breast cancer or sponsor a walker. The walk will be on Sunday, October 18th at 9:00 am.

4. Ask your child's school to participate in Pink Hijab Day. (Some Islamic schools in the NJ area allow their students to participate in Pink Hijab Day if they donate $5 to the Susan G Komen foundation...see example letter to parents below).

5. Encourage your mosque's imam to dedicate his khutba on October 23rd. Talking points for the khutba are available upon request.

Ohio State University: 

On October 28, WEAR PINK and join the MSA on the OVAL and help create awareness for why Muslim women wear the hijab and raise funds for breast cancer research. 

Many people around campus and in classes wonder why Muslim women wear the headscarf and there are many misconceptions associated with the hijab. During this day long event, we will educate and raise awareness about the hijab and breast cancer!

From 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, there will be free pink ribbon bagels from Panera on the oval, along with information about breast cancer awareness and the hijab.

Also, any donation $2 or above will receive a stylish pink ribbon scarf which you may wear for the day as a hijab to see what it's like, or just wear like a regular scarf.

Everyone who makes a $2 donation will have their name entered in a raffle and the person's name will be entered again for every dollar donated above that. 

All proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen fund for breast cancer research.
